Please find below a link to new publication by UNESCO: Reading in the Mobile Era : a study of mobile reading in developing countries.

The report suggests “three broad strategies for extending the benefits of mobile reading to more people: 1) diversify mobile reading content and portals to appeal to specific target groups; 2) increase outreach efforts to create opportunities for potential users to experiment with mobile reading and learn about its benefits; and 3) lower cost and technology barriers to mobile reading” (page 75).
And look out for a forthcoming publication, Reading without Books: 15 projects that leverage mobile technology for literacy in developing countries.

These are three teacher education modules for ESOL teachers who are not expereinced in teaching initial literacy, developed by the British Council.
In Ireland NALA showed us the page for lowskilled adults.I can say it was inspirative and it is a great platform for practice skills for adults, have a tutor like an assistant by the phone and in the end to get recognised by NALA, level 1 and 2 in FETAC as I remeber.
